Journey with us on a music trail around the Yishun neighbourhood!


Following two successful runs in Toa Payoh and Bedok, journey with us on this third and final musical trail around the Yishun neighbourhood. If you missed out on the previous editions of Arts Imprints Around My Neighbourhood in Toa Payoh and Bedok, be sure to sign up for this final unique music trail across the Yishun neighbourhood.

Arts Imprints Around My Neighbourhood

Starting from either Chong Pang Amphitheatre or Yishun Neighbourhood Park, follow the footsteps of the musicians to uncover the story of Yishun, one of the oldest estates in Singapore. Expect a fun filled experience from pop-up music performances to learning simple drumming techniques and ending on a high note with a special finale concert at GV Yishun cinema! Whether you are a child, parents, grandparents, or just looking to explore the arts in your neighbourhood, this will be an immersive musical experience to rediscover Yishun. Choose your preferred starting point and let’s get started!


Choose your starting point, musical trail riders!

Pick your preferred starting point (Route A: Chong Pang Amphitheatre or Route B: Yishun Neighbourhood Park) and embark on a music journey through the town of Yishun. Both tracks includes a grand finale performance at GV Yishun Cinema, Asia’s first Cineplex! Musical trail riders will also get a chance to take part in a special hands-on commemorative craft activity inspired by the pineapple.

Route A (Chong Pang Amphitheatre)

  • Date: 26 March 2017 (Sunday)
  • Time: 9.30am - 12.30pm
  • Meeting Point: Chong Pang Amphitheatre (Besides Chong Pang Market & Food Centre), 104 Yishun Ring Road, Singapore 760104
  • Route: Chong Pang Amphitheatre --> Yishun Neighbourhood Park --> GV Yishun Cinema
Route B (Yishun Neighbourhood Park)
  • Date: 26 March 2017 (Sunday)
  • Time: 9.30am - 12.30pm
  • Meeting Point: Yishun Neighbourhood Park, along Yishun Ave 2
  • Route: Yishun Neighbourhood Park --> Chong Pang Amphitheatre --> GV Yishun Cinema
Things To Note:
  1. Your registration will only be confirmed upon receiving an email from NAC.
  2. This programme is suitable for all ages and will be conducted in English and Mandarin.
  3. Interested participants can choose to start the programme either at Route A (Chong Pang Amphitheatre or Route B (Yishun Neighbourhood Park). All participants, regardless of chosen route, will have a chance to experience the complete trail.
  4. Transport will be provided for the trail which will end at GV Yishun Cinema.
  5. Each session will take about 3 hours. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and to bring along a water bottle for the trail.
  6. Latecomers will not be permitted to join the programme.
  7. In the event of bad weather, please note that this programme may be delayed or cancelled. Thank you for your understanding.

紧接上两次圆满完成的大巴窑和勿洛邻里音乐兜游,这次我们将音乐的步履带到终点站义顺区!观众(或称“乐游者”)将从忠邦中心剧场或义顺公园出发,跟着演奏家们游览新加坡早期的邻里之一–义顺,一起回顾昔日和今日的故事。“乐游者”届时能尝试玩奏乐器,连同演奏家们在义顺具独特色的义顺嘉华院线戏院,来一场前所未有的音乐环节大合奏!不论男女老少及各年龄层人士均可参加,一起来认识义顺邻里的响趣乐章、感染艺术的愉悦氛围吧!

About Arts in Your Neighbourhood

The Arts in Your Neighbourhood programme provides an enriching arts experience at one's doorstep. It is a series comprising interactive arts programmes by established artists and arts groups held at various spaces across the island.

Look out for a myriad of Dance, Music, Literary Arts, Visual Arts and Theatre programmes, in addition to many other exciting programmes this March!

Arts for All is an initiative by National Arts Council to promote self-expression, creativity and bonding through the arts by bringing it to where people live, work and play.

About Quek Ling Kiong

Quek Ling Kiong is the Resident Conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) and Music Director of the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO). Recipient of the National Arts Council’s Young Artist Award in 2002, Ling Kiong is committed to spreading his passion and knowledge of music to budding young musicians.

About Arts Imprints Around My Neighbourhood

Arts Imprints Around My Neighbourhood is a 3-part project, where familiar neighbourhoods will be transformed into unusual sites for pop-up performances. Conceptualised by Singapore Chinese Orchestra's Resident Conductor and Music Director of the Singapore Youth Chinese Orchestra Mr Quek Ling Kiong, it aims to inspire residents of Singapore to rediscover and appreciate their neighbourhood with their families and friends. With its first successful installments held at Toa Payoh and Bedok, this programme will present its final instalment at Yishun – with the support from the National Arts Council.
